Typical varietal fragrance with tones of ripe black fruits, strawberries, red currants, noble skin, spices and pepper. The taste is round, velvety, extractive with a strong tannin and a touch of raisins at the end.
The grapes come from one of the 17 Premier Cru vineyards in Beaune. Clos de L 'Ecu is less than 3 hectares in size and is 100% owned by Faiveley (27 years old).
14-16 months maturing in wooden barrels - 2/3 new.
